“Anyone is better than a sociopathic criminal.”
How about just a rich sociopath? Michael Bloomberg is as bad as Trump and he can pay off liberal organizations to say he’s the second coming, ex. he created an Orwellian and racist anti-Muslim surveillance regime then paid off Center for American Progress to the tune of 1 million to scrub all mention of it from their report. He did the same with the Environmental Defense Fund
Right now he’s probably the only non-Bernie candidate who could conceivably take the nomination. The rest are tanking and running out of cash.
Anyways, Bernie is going to get the most votes. The only way he won’t be the nominee right now is if the DNC crowns someone in the second round.
I’m not going to commit to vote for the nominee if it’s 1.) Someone who is substantively the same as Trump and bought his way to the nomination 2.) If the nomination is made in an undemocratic way that nullifies the votes of millions of people.
No amount of sermons from you or anyone else is going to change my mind about that. sorry.
And you should be less worried about my vote, which is functionally worthless, and more worried about my labor and that of the 1.5 to 2 million or so Bernie volunteers.
I plan to go all out and put in several hundred hours canvassing between now and November if Bernie gets the nomination. I won’t do that for anyone else. Unless you and the other 50–60 year olds who are chiding me in the comment section want to make up the difference in canvassing, texting and phonebanking, your best bet is to vote Bernie and make sure we avoid a contested convention.
Right now the reality is “Bernie or bust.” There is no one who has both a chance to win the nomination outright and beat Trump. Period.
