Articulating solutions that work and are common sense in literally every developed country is enough to be considered “radical” in the United States, so I don’t really get what point you’re trying to make.
Also I’m not sure what you mean by “realpolitik” here because in context it seems nonsensical. I would assume you just mean “pragmatism,” i.e.the same half-assed milquetoast centrism that has absolutely failed working people for decades now yet snake-oil salesmen keep trying to pass it off as “sensible.”
The fact is that there is a wealthy class that owns most everything and they are committed to maintaining their class position. They benefit specifically from the status quo and they will do whatever it takes to maintain that up to and including violence.
Realpolitik involves identifying enemies and treating them as such. It’s not looking at people who are fundamentally hostile to everything you believe as potential allies that can be won over.
