Asserting Bernie’s campaign has already shifted Joe Biden to the left is, in your words, “too glib to be correct.” Biden paying lipservice to policies he never plans to enact isn’t going to win over voters who have seen that all before — most notably from Biden’s former boss.

You can say we all need to come together, but that’s not going to make it happen. Yeah maybe we should be uniting against Trump, but “should” and “would” are irrelevant.

People have been glibly faulting Bernie for not doing more to compromise and “build a coalition,” well now that’s on Biden to do the same. Of course, no one is going to put any blame on Biden for actively alienating every voter under 40 by saying he has “no empathy” for the hardships they face, yet these same pundits will harp on Bernie for supposedly “not doing enough to court black voters” or some other such nonsense.

Bottom line: If Biden wants to win, it’s on him to unite the Democratic electorate, and he can’t do it. He’s corrupt, conservative and absolutely uninspiring to boot.

It’s not Bernie’s fault that Joe Biden isn’t a better candidate. Everyone making the case for him to drop out is just preparing themselves mentally for his eventual loss, so they don’t have to take ownership of their awful decisions to support this awful candidate, just like Clinton scapegoated Bernie in 2016. Y’all never learn.
