Head Start is for poor people, not black people. The largest group of beneficiaries in any anti-poverty program is always whites. For instance, though “Section 8” has racial connotations and is often used as a dog whistle, 50 percent of Section 8 recipients are white.

The biggest beneficiary of Affirmative Action has historically been white women.

So to answer your question: No these things aren’t reparations.

Also, having a black character on a TV show isn’t reparations either. I was actually taking you somewhat seriously until I read that. That’s just ridiculous

Reparations aren’t symbolic. They’re meant to address the disparities in wealth that is a legacy of slavery, Jim Crow segregation and continued disparities in policing, housing and employment that are ultimately rooted in the racial caste system that had to be established in order for slavery to function.

I personally don’t advocate cash reparations because I don’t think that will do much to fix the problem. I would recommend creating some kind of massive endowment to fund various programs that would directly address the problems black people face.
