I don’t. In fact I think the symbol of Lincoln, or rather the ahistorical myth constructed around him, perpetuates a “Great Man” version of history that erases the agency of Black enslaved people who withheld labor, took up arms and otherwise fought to secure their own liberation. A symbol alienated from the actual facts of history is actively harmful. There are other, better symbols.
