I suggest you go actually read what the Overton Window means. It means the framing of what is considered acceptable discussion that has a realistic chance of being translated into policy.

It’s not left by a long shot. Three out of three branches of the government are controlled by Republicans and the Republican Party is under the sway of a far-right faction.

Obamacare, which was more or less the same plan the Republicans tried to pass in the 1990s, is considered some sort of radically socialist thing.

Trump’s immigration policy, with its English-language preferences, is a covert attempt to roll back the law to the pre-1965 status quo of quotas that favored Europeans, which dovetails perfectly with the white nationalist agenda. White nationalists think of 1965 as the beginning of the end for America as a “white” nation.

In addition to Trump’s reluctance to condemn white nationalist violence, you have actual GOP politicians trying to legalize the very same type of violence that occurred in Charlottesville, including proposed bills in six states that extend protection to those who run over protestors with their cars.

It’s also considered acceptable and has been for a long time to openly fantasize about mass murdering protestors with your car. They even sell bumper stickers on eBay.

So while your bitching because someone hurt your classically liberal feels by calling you a Nazi. There are literal Nazis out there murdering people exercising their free speech.
