I write every day. I don’t publish every day. It’s good to work your writing chops daily, but you don’t want to shovel out dreck just to meet some kind of self-imposed quota.
I like to get stubs of multiple articles started because that’s the hardest part and then flesh it out in my head throughout the day. You end up with something tighter and more coherent than if you just plow through. You also come up with better insights.
I’ve also found it’s best to sleep on some ideas. Your mind processes it all during the night.
