It should be the government’s responsibility to uphold the rule of law, but law enforcement are not neutral, and neither are state legislatures, and certainly not the 80 percent White, 90 percent Christian Congress.

In fact, according to the FBI, police forces are increasingly infiltrated by white supremacists. A Louisiana officer was recently fired for a racist Facebook post. Two officers in Texas were fired after they were outed as KKK members. If you think there aren’t more out there, you’re fooling yourself. This is the tip of the iceberg

Right-wing militias assisted police in arresting protestors in Portland. There’s all sorts of collusion between the police and the far-right at every level. Alt-right /pol/ack’s are using their decentralized networks to dox Antifascist organizers and then snitch on them to the FBI.

And the parallels to the Weimar Republic are disturbing. Hitler and the Nazis were tolerated because they were considered the lesser evil relative to the communists. They all got pretty light sentences after their bloody failed coup just like that Trump supporter who was caught with pipe bombs after threatening to blow up a mosque only got a slap on the wrist. Meanwhile, J20 protestors are being threatened with 80 years in prison for “felony rioting” for smashing a few windows and tipping over trash cans.
