My parents divorced after I was already grown, and he married a woman with money. My dad’s almost 70 and up until he was laid off, he was selling kitchen equipment.

He was an independent distributor for Voortman cookies and then Fiesta Spices. He basically drove around to the HEBs and stocked shelves for a living. Once when he was in-between jobs he worked at the same telemarketing call center as I did for $7.50 an hour. My mom was a secretary in a doctor’s office.

If you think that makes me a spoiled rich kid, then you are an idiot who has no idea what class means.

Also, dumbass. You do realize that living in a place with a high median income, doesn’t mean you make a high income?

FYI, this is where I grew up. The median income is below poverty. Go look up “Rough Beauty,” the photo thesis some dumb former Clinton staffer did on our town, where it was compared to “Depression-era poverty.”

But do please go read all my articles trying to own me.
