Okay, but that’s not really how updates work. An update goes like this “Oakdale Hills Elementary contacted us today and informed us that the cannibal is no longer teaching that Kindergarten class,” i.e. it gives some new information that the writer didn’t have before.

All this info was available in various places at the time you wrote it.

What you need is something in the way of a correction or an admission of wrong at the top of the story. Or better yet just delete this whole mess.
