The status quo won’t do right now. We face multiple existential crises, not the least of which is a looming point of no return for the climate which threatens to cause the extinction of the entire human race and the ruin of the planet if we don’t act drastically in the next 8 years. Maybe Boomers, with the grave creeping up on the them, might crave the calm of incrementalism and a decrepit good ol boy conservative, but those of us who will actually have to live on this planet for several more decades (if we’re lucky) want action. What good is a “transition candidate” if the other end of that transition is a gaping void?
