You could say the same thing about the Supreme Court, but in the long run both institutions have proven to be more regressive on the balance. As to your points about the House, abolishing the Senate would have to be part of a package of political reforms aimed at making the system more democratic across the board, including abolishing the electoral college, expanding and setting term limits in the Supreme Court, implementing ranked-choice voting and clamping down on partisan/race-based gerrymandering. Without the baked in advantages of 20 years of voter suppression and gerrymandering, the prospect of a Republican House wouldn’t be anything to worry about.
